This is a 1st USA pressing with stamped matrix numbers. It is not a reissue. This is an outstanding example, with vinyl that appears to have been rarely played and a beautifully clean original cover.
This has the following stamped matrix numbers:
Side one: SR 61325-A-M2
Side two: SR 61325-B-M1
Description
Disc: The vinyl looks great and has retained its original sheen. There are a handful of light hairlines and sleeve-removal lines on side one and a couple on side two when viewed under bright light, but there's nothing bad anywhere. I would visually grade side one as Excellent (Ex) and side two as Excellent Plus (Ex+). I've played the whole record in full from start to finish and it plays superbly with nothing to report. For the sake of completeness I would mention some minor background noise in the run-ins/outs, fades, silent grooves and intros and the occasional random, solitary click, but there are no repetitive clicks anywhere and there's absolutely nothing on this album to detract from your listening pleasure. I would play-grade it as Excellent Plus (Ex+) to Near Mint (NM). I think it would be very hard to find a better one.
Labels: No tears, stickers, writing etc, and minimal (if any) spindle marking suggesting that the record was rarely played.
Sleeve: The sleeve is a stunning example with crisp, vibrant colours and very few signs of wear or age. It has the drill hole that most copies have, but as you can see from the close photos, the one on the front is very unobtrusive and the one on the back has been neatly restored. There has also been a neat restoration to about an inch of the top seam near the spine, but this has been done very well so that I don't think anyone would notice it. I only mention it for the sake of complete accuracy as I don't think anyone would know it's there. Other than this there are has no seam splits, which is almost unheard of with these sleeves. I think it would be hard to find one that looks much nicer than this.
Detracting features not covered above: None.
All photographs are of the actual item for sale. Please ask any questions before you bid or buy.
Where gradings are given these are based on the UK Record Collector grading system (see below) and are visual gradings only, unless the listing specifically states that it is a play-grading.
I use the UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM. This grading system differs from some other grading systems, in particular the Goldmine grading system. Please make sure that you are familiar with the UK record collector grading system before you bid.
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
Plus (+) or Minus (-) are added where items fall between gradings. I only ever use one plus or minus.
