Description

Up for auction is a nice copy of the album "Book Little" (self-titled) released on Time Records (S/2011) in 1960.  Also features Winton Kelly, Tommy Flanagan, Scott La Faro, and Roy Haynes.  What a lineup!  This is an original, deep groove stereo pressing.  Gatefold cover. Includes the original Time inner sleeve.  The cover is in great condition, with very few signs of wear.  No ring wear, no writing, no age discoloration.  Front is bright white shiny laminate.  Seams tight, no splits.  Corners are sharp, though a couple how a tiny amount of rubbing.  Spine is not creased.  Inside gatefold looks fresh and clean, no aging or writing.  I'll grade the cover Near Mint (NM).  Vinyl is nice and shiny, with original gloss intact.  Shows some very superficial, faint scuffing from taking disc in and out of paper inner sleeve.  Also what looks like some tiny hairlines here and there, none of which affect play.  Hard to see unless under the right light at the right angle.  I've play tested this record, and generally it sounds really good, bright, full-bodied.  Does have a hint of background noise here and there, though not loud enough to really distract from the pleasure of listening.  It's slight but it's there at times.  I would grade the vinyl EX (excellent), below Near Mint but above VG+.  This is a gem of a record, and considered by many to be among Booker Little's best.
