We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Approx 50+ year old YELLOW & BLACK PARLOPHONE vintage '60s collectible (with "flapback" seams) ... as thrashed as copies ( like this ) are likely to be at this point in time - here's a survivor, plays with excellent audio. Beatles records didn't just sit around - they were played to death. With that, getting an enjoyable listening platter with yellow/black label is harder to find than one might imagine ... the historic FIRST Beatles album, and Beatlemania exploded around the globe...

In 1963 four lads from Liverpool, UK recorded an album at Abbey Rd which changed pop history...gone were professional song writers who sat in office`s writing nice middle class boy meet girl 3 minute singles... THE BEATLES wrote played and sang working class rough and ready rock n roll ... this small ripple soon became a tidal wave around the world. Once their first 45 "Please Please Me" rocketed to number one, the Beatles rushed to deliver a debut album, bashing out it out in a day. 47 years after its release, the album still sounds fresh, precisely because of its intense origins. As the songs rush past, it's easy to get wrapped up in the sound of the record itself without realizing how the album effectively summarizes the band's eclectic influences. Naturally, the influences shine through their covers, all of which are unconventional and illustrate the group's superior taste. There's a love of girl groups, vocal harmonies, sophisticated popcraft, R&B and hard-driving rock & roll, which is enough to make Please Please Me impressive, but what makes it astonishing is how these elements converge in the originals. "I Saw Here Standing There" is one of their best rockers, yet it has surprising harmonies and melodic progressions. "Misery" and "There's a Place" grow out of the girl group tradition without being tied to it. A few of their originals, such as "Do You Want to Know a Secret" and the pleasantly light "PS I Love You," have dated slightly, but endearingly so, since they're infused with cheerful innocence and enthusiasm. And there is an innocence to Please Please Me. The Beatles may have played notoriously rough dives in Hamburg, but the only way you could tell that on their first album was how the constant gigging turned the group into a tight, professional band that could run through their set list at the drop of a hat with boundless energy. It's no surprise that Lennon had shouted himself hoarse by the end of the session, barely getting through "Twist and Shout," the most famous single-take in rock history. He simply got caught up in the music, just like generations of listeners did...

CONDITION: - The cover: rated: near "EX" (excellent), actually really nice readily acceptable, the new owner is not going to wish for an upgrade...front laminated panel is collectible near M- , the corners are only very slightly blunt but not bent or creased, thus the downgrade. Actually the front & back cover appearance is great(!) (see photo) which is remarkable given the case virtually all UK '60s covers being so thin/delicate have imperfections after 55+ years. There are no split seams, no significant bends still strong colors, no writing anywhere, no delete marks...and of course the old style "flapback seams" for the ages old 60's production are
- in tact. Obviously highly collection worthy rarity ...
- The vinyl: Rated: Rated: strong VG++ near "EX" (excellent) there are very minor visual signs of careful use well over the past 55+ years. Looks like it was played and handled with care, so remains a very decent collectible appearance. The actual audio with deep groove heavy platter pressing is amazing with clean audio throughout. A nice listening platter which includes the whole historic background concerning Beatlemania and the springboard to what evolved... both yellow/black =mono= Parlophone labels are clean with exception of light spindle marks on clean labels only reflective in light
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
