BOBBY RIO & The REVELLES DEMO BOY MEETS GIRL PYE 7N 15790 EX+ RGM MEEK
On auction is:
BOBBY RIO & The REVELLES 45 rpm ADVANCED PROMOTION / DEMONSTRATION RECORD entitled BOY MEETS GIRL c/w DON’T GIVE YOU LOVE AND RUN AWAY released in the UK on PYE 7N 15790 in 1965.
This rare PYE demo does not give producer or composer credits. In fact both sides of this rare demo 45 are RGM Sound Recording productions under the supervision of the celebrated independent producer - Joe Meek. Also the B side was co-written by Meek - and if you can see (or have) a copy of the stock issue of this record then you will see these credits. Also the official title of the B side when it was issued was ‘Don’t break my heart and run away’ which shows it was changed after this early Advanced Promo was provided for DJ use.
The record is housed in an original PYE label company sleeve.
The record label is very nice and clean: it has the release date of 12 MAR stamped on the A side.
The disc is visually in superb EX+ condition.
I have test-played this rare demo for this auction and it sounded very nice on my BOSE hi-fi system.
