BOBBY HUTCHERSON - COMPONENTS

Great condition copy of this 1965 highly collectable US Blue Note 1st press rarity (one of the rarer Blue Note originals_

Year/Label : 1965 US BLUE NOTE
Label number : BLP 4213
Matrix numbers :  BNLP-4213.A,  BNLP-4213.B (hand etched), with "VAN GELDER" stamped on both sides
Gleaming with jet black sheen excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl, completely flat and virtually unmarked. If you look really closely under a bright light you may just be able to detect one or two tiny and extremely wispy hairlines but that's it! Clearly, this record has been played very sparingly, probably just a few times.  Each label is excellent with the only blemishes being a single small and extremely faint spindle trail adjacent to the centre hole on the side 1 label and just the hint of some faint blue ink smudging on the same label adjacent to the words "LONG PLAYING" (see photos). Note the "NEW YORK USA" text on each label, synonymous with Blue Note 1st pressings of this record.  Excellent (EX) condition and eminently presentable original thick cardboard outer sleeve with all of the colours, art work, photos and text remaining impressively intact. Each edge remains firm with no scuffing - just a couple of 5-6mm very light "nicks" on the bottom edge. Each corner remains a nicely defined right angle with just the hint of some very minor compression on the bottom left and top right corners and there is no fraying on either of the opening edges. Excellent, rigid spine also with all spine text remaining perfectly intact. The reverse side is equally impressive with just a few very light and small age/storage/handling marks only. Note the "43 West 61st St., New York 23" text at the bottom of the reverse side of the outer sleeve - another very 1st press identifier.  Near mint (NM) MONO audio quality with no clicks, skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, interference or distortion. Background crackle is non-existent with great tone and crystal clear audio quality throughout - superb! Every track remains a great listen with legendary musicians Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), James Spaulding (alto sax and flute), Bobby Hutcherson (vibes and marimba), Herbie Hancock (piano), Ron Carter (bass), and Joe Chambers (drums) in great form.  Comes with original and truly excellent condition "27 YEARS BLUE NOTE" inner sleeve, with no seam splits, tears or edge fraying - just some very minor creasing and very mild age discolouration adjacent to the side edges.   You won't find many better condition 1st pressing copies of the Blue Note rarity than this one - just try!
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £9 using Royal Mail special delivery;

for continental Europe £13 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £19 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
