Description
- Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band released their eleventh studio album "Against The Wind" in February 1980 on Capitol Records. It became their only album to hit No. 1 and is notable for being the record that finally knocked Pink Floyd's "The Wall" off the top position. It contains four huge singles; "Fire Lake," "Against The Wind," "You'll Accomp'ny me," and "The Horizontal Bop/Her Strut."
- This copy (SOO-12041) is from the first pressing and is in exceptional condition. The cover is still in its original shrink wrap which is why it easily grades VG+ as is the card stock inner lyrics sleeve. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+. The ✲ ✲ in the matrix indicates it was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles. The inner sleeve credits Wally Traugott for mastering the record but the Discogs database indicates he only mastered one side and the other was mastered by Gene Thompson who gets an etched credit for both sides of this copy. The dead wax on Side 1 is etched SOO-1-12041-G 12. ✲ ✲ gene (stamped) Mastered By Capitol (circled X).
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 40 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
