BOB MARLEY - I Know a Place / Who Colt the Game
2 Rare Lee Perry Produced Vinyl 7”s.
UNPLAYED!
When Bob Marley returned to Jamaica, following the Kaya tour in 1978, he reunited with Lee Scratch Perry at his Black Ark studio to record 2 gems that would not see release for over 2 decades, long after his death. Perry mixed them along with dub versions and then they sat on the shelf until resurrected and released as (2) 7” singles by Ascension Records in Australia, circa 2000.
“I Know a Place”, and “Who Colt the Game”. Ascension singles ANSI-01 & 02. As mentioned, recorded in 1978 at Black Ark, with veteran session players like Chinna Smith & Mikey Boo Richards, plus background vocals by the I Threes.
“I Know a Place” was heavily remixed later with additional commercial production and released by Tuff Gong.
“Who Colt the Game” was later re-recorded and released by Rita Marley.
These 2 singles are the original Lee Perry Black Ark mixes.
Both singles are unplayed and stored since release. Vinyl on them is Near Mint, in generic white sleeves.
