COVER CONDITION: overall, a good VG. some splitting, wear
- FRONT: some ringwear, discoloration left side
- BACK: light staining, small writing
- STICKER: nice clear sticker, a little wear but NO TEARS.
VINYL CONDITION:
LABELS: gorgeous VG+/NM
VINYL CONDITION (SIDE ONE): VG+ (some light marks)
VINYL CONDITION (SIDE TWO): VG (light marks, wear. One long hairline scratch, but not deep at all)
DETAILS: This is an absolute 1st pressing of the very first BOB DYLAN album. It was issued in 1962 when 98% of LPs were in mono, making STEREO issues very hard to find. This copy with the red/black "six eye" "STEREO FIDELITY" labels, is one of the hardest to find Dylan items. Add to that, the fact that this is a STEREO PROMOTIONAL copy and you have a major treasure on your hands. Mono promo copies of this album are very rare...just imagine how seldom a STEREO copy will come up for sale. This is a decent, nice VG copy. The last time I saw a 6-eye Dylan it was a beat up mono. These simply don't exist in good shape!
Here are some more specific details:
-Front cover has silver “New star on columbia” sticker. This sticker is very scarce as it was only on about one-third of all original copies.
-Back cover has “DEMONSTRATION NOT FOR SALE” rubber stamp.
-Record label has “For Demonstration Use Only Not For Sale” sticker (side 2).
-The front cover has a red <Stereo> logo.
-“You're No Good” by Jesse Fuller is correctly listed on both the cover and record label.
-White label promo copies of this album DO NOT exist.
There you have it. This copy has EVERYTHING. Unless you have a “blood on the tracks” test pressing or a Stereo “freewheelin'” with alt. tracks, this will be the centerpiece of your Dylan collection. Don't let it get away. With the economy being the way it is, you may get this record for a steal (I've seen similar ones go for up to $1500.00!!) Happy bidding!
