Original stereo issue: contract pressing Philips sleeve and disc

Matrix #: SPBG * 62193 * 1Y 420 1 and SPBG * 62193 * 2Y 420 1 * denotes an upside triangle symbol

1Y denotes side 1 stereo and 1 denotes master cut 1.....

these are Philips matrix #'s (CBS = '62193 1..)

Disc  EX+ superb condition

just about as good as you get for a disc of this age (coming up to 50 years !!!)

Label: 'rough' paper label with thick type song titles and small spbg** and light orange paper with indented circle within the logo box

speed  33 

** note small letters NOT the expected large lettering-see note below.

NOTE: Although this is a Philips contract pressing it is a label variation from the normal Philips pressing in that although it has the indented circle entirely within the centre logo box it also has the unusual small lettering SBPG in non bold type (where normally this is the same size as the catalogue # and bold type) and the other variation is for the 'S' to be the same size and the other letters smaller on other CBS labels.

Also there is (circled) P 1963 whereas other Philips pressing labels have 'Recording first published...'

It is possible that this is a Philips pressing hybrid and that a CBS printed label was used at the Philips plant (to explain the centre indent which is from the Philips plant).

Any relevant comments welcome !!  Bit of a minefield the early Dylan releases !!!

Philips cover-variant B (see below)-front laminated cover-edge creasing-mainly along bottom edge/thumb crease/bottom corners-lamination crease and some small patches of lamination lifting

boxed stereo with arrows on cover-middle top (front and back)

apart from the creasing near bottom edge this is a super cover-lamination nice and shiny.

Edges and corners crisp and clean

Back: with US catalogue # below UK cat # (which is located to the left of the CBS logo on back and underneath the front logo (no cat # on front of CBS issue)

Back very clean with super clean and shiny flaps

Cover variant B: with 2 overlapping back flaps and lamination overlap down the spine

Spine EX+ fab-u-lous ! with very tiny corner wear (top) and very tiny blemish near top and lettering is clear crisp clean and intact
