BOB DYLAN - THE FREEWHEELIN' BOB DYLAN - EARLY MONO PRESSING - "GUARANTEED HIGH FIDELITY"
Columbia CL1986, released 1963
Matrix numbers XLP-58717-3A / XLP-58718-2H
This early mono pressing of Bob Dylan's second album features the Columbia 2-eye label, with the legends "Guaranteed High Fidelity" and "Nonbreakable." Identification numbers on the label, below the "Side" designations, read "(x"Lp" 58717)" (I've never seen it printed that way before -- with the "Lp" in quotes!)
The jacket bears a rectangular white sticker with red printing advertising "Singing His Sensational Hit "Blowin' In The Wind."
Condition: Record has numerous surface scratches, especially on Side 2, but none are deep, and vinyl retains a very nice glossy finish. Labels are in excellent condition except for a name written in thin black marker on Side 1. Jacket has some puckering, probably due to light water damage, but very little wear except cosmetic along the bottom edge. There is no ringwear and despite the puckering, mostly in the lower right-hand corner, the jacket is still strong and intact, with no splits at all; the cover photo is largely undisturbed and looks quite nice. There is also a name written in neat black marker on the back of the jacket, as well as a lightly stamped "A" in a circle, but the liner notes are undisturbed and look good. Record comes with a new non-static rice paper inner sleeve and protective poly outer cover.
