Description

This is a VERY RARE copy of BOB DYLAN "SAVED" ULTRA-RARE SEALED '80 COLUMBIA LP w/WITHDRAWN COVER

One just like this closed on eBay for $91 just a few weeks ago! Don't let this one get away.

This info below was posted on the recently sold copy of this LP:

ULTRA-RARE ALTERNATIVE, SHORT-LIVED VERSION OF THE COVER, SHOWING A BEAUTIFUL DRAWING OF BOB DYLAN PERFORMING ON STAGE.
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ABOUT THIS RARE COVER WAS WRITTEN BY BRUCE DICKINSON, COLUMBIA’S PROJECT MANAGER ON THIS DYLAN ALBUM:

“The "Stage" cover is actually the second cover. It was based on the inner sleeve of the more commonly known "Hands" cover. It was created, after the initial shipments of "Saved", as an alternate cover geared towards people who found the original cover too strong but Dylan preferred the "Hands" cover so the "Hands" cover was always the primary cover and it was the first cover. Neither cover was withdrawn during the vinyl era and the record shipped in both covers. However, there were always many more of the "Hands" covers, simply because the initial pressing of this album was the biggest by far and it was already sealed and packed with the "Hands" cover. In fact, sales of "Saved" were so limited that the supply of "Hands" covers probably never ran low enough to switch over to the "Stage" cover even if Bob Dylan had wanted to make the change. Columbia obviously used whatever covers they had on hand for "Saved" right up until the end of the vinyl era”
