Description
This is a very rare record and piece of African American history. It was produced by The Council For United Civil Rights Leadership. It is a recording of Dr, King's March on Washington, August 28th, 1963. Side 1, Joan Baez sings We Shall Overcome, President Kennedy's Press Conference, Dr. Martin Luther King's Complete Speech, Marion Anderson, He's Got the Whole World in His Hands. Side 2, Odetta, Oh Freedom, Rabbi Joachim Prinz, Complete Speech, Bob Dylan, Ballad of Medgar Evers, Peter, Paul & Mary, The Hammer Song plus excerpts from the speeches of Farmer, Young, Lewis, Williams and Reuther. This is an incredible album, a rare find for record collector's and a wonderful piece of American history for every child to hear. The album cover has some issues. Front overall is very good except for bottom which has a complete clean split and about 1 inch of peel across whole bottom, possible water damage . The top edge is fine and the spine is good all legible, 1' peel on bottom spine.Record has some scuffs not scratches, plays beautiful and is above excellent. Labels perfect.
