Description
From my personal collection comes one of the coolest Bob Dylan rarities I've acquired over the years, a stunning Near Mint copy of the sensational double album, "Halloween Masque," released on the 4th Street label in 1988 of Bob's Halloween show at NYC Philharmonic Hall, Oct. 31, 1964. Deluxe full color front and back cover and deluxe full color labels with printed song titles. No marks or writing anywhere. Minor creasing at the two lower corners of the cover, also top left corner has some wear. Vinyl is glossy, clean, with no marks, scratches, defacing or skips etc. with no spindle marks at all. Actually looks unplayed.... According to 'Bobs Boots'... "this gem was released in 1988...an ultimate as far as sound quality. This is perhaps the first time that the show has been released on a good press and from the original tape sources. Back cover has a great write-up about the show'
BOB IS IN RARE FORM, IMPROVISING LYRICS TO FIT THE OCCASION AND JOKING WITH THE CROWD, MAKING MANY REFERENCES TO THIS HALLOWEEN GIG, SAYING THAT HE IS WEARING HIS "BOB DYLAN MASQUE" AND THAT HE IS "MASQUERADING". THE MUSIC SET IS VERY CLOSE TO THAT SEEN AND HEARD IN THE D.A. PENNEBAKER DOCUMENTARY "DON'T LOOK BACK" BUT WITH A FEW RARE SURPRISES AND A SPECIAL SURPRISE DUET ON THE LAST 4 NUMBERS OF SIDE 4.
