PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
WILDLY RARE original CL 2389 first pressing in glorious mono from August 30, 1965 on Columbia's two-eye label with NONBREAKABLE text to the left of the center hole, "meaningless" printed in the liner notes on the back cover, the number 4 printed in the bottom left hand corner on the rear cover and original rounded poly inner sleeve!!! LP is easily VG, close to VG+, with some light paper scuffs. Cover is a nice VG with no splits, no seams and some light foxing. So much hyperbolic ink has been spilled over lead-off track Like A Rolling Stone in the nearly 60 years since this album's release that it's easy to forget just how good it (and Dylan's songwriting prowess in general) is until you sit down and listen to it on vinyl in mono and you're floored all over again. Every time I hear it it's like a revelation. You NEED this LP even if you're just a casual music fan. A high water mark for Dylan in a career awash with them. Simply essential listening. Anyone that follows my auctions knows I don't fawn over many LPs but this is an album whose praises I will forever sing and with good reason. You will not be disappointed.
