Description
SUPER RARE FIRST (1962) BOB DYLAN ALBUM WITH COLUMBIA 6-EYED LABEL.
On 3/19/1962 Dylan released his first record it didn't sell well at all, Columbia released about 2500 records and didn't release anymore. Only about 500 were in stereo the rest were in mono, stereo was in its infancy at the time. That is why the stereo version of this record is like 3X more valuable than the mono version. Shortly after this records release Columbia did away with the 6-eyed red and black label with the white text, the 2nd release of this record had a 2-eyed label with black text it was released in late 1962.
It is very hard find one these records in any kind of decent shape.
CONDITION VINYL - Side 1 is very close to NM as it has very light paper scuffs, I was not able to
see any visible scratches even when holding it at an angle in the light. Because of the scuffs I'll grade it as a NM Minus. Side 2 VG++ has light paper scuffs with the addition of 2 visible scratches. They are unfeelable and did not cause any skips when I play tested the record on my audio- technica turntable. They're more like rubs. See the photos for the two scratches. Still has its nice shine! CS 8579 Original inner sleeve. The 1B/1A trailers indicate this record as one of the earliest pressings.
LABELS - The labels are in excellent condition with no unwanted writing and there is almost no spindle wear.
JACKET - The cover is VG+ as there is some ring wear, corner wear and some shelf wear on the bottom edge and front & back cover. No seam splits, tape, writing or stains. All text is readable including the spine. Nice heavy cardboard cover.
