BOB DYLAN - BOB DYLAN AT BUDOKAN - Vinyl Record - HHR00545 VG

This album is by Bob Dylan the American singer-songwriter. Generally regarded as one of the greatest songwriters ever, Dylan has been a major figure in popular culture over his 60-year career. He rose to prominence in the 1960s, when his songs became anthems for the civil rights and antiwar movements. His lyrics during this period incorporated political, social, philosophical, and literary influences, defying pop music conventions and appealing to the burgeoning counter culture. When Dylan made his move from acoustic folk and blues music to rock, the mix became more complex. His six-minute single Like a Rolling Stone (1965) expanded commercial and creative boundaries in popular music. In July 1966, a motorcycle accident led to Dylan's withdrawal from touring. During this period, he recorded a large body of sonsg with members of the Band, who had previously backed him on tour. These recordings were later released as The Basement Tapes in 1975. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Dylan explored country music and rural themes. He has sold more than 145 million records, making him one of the best selling musicians ever.

Bob Dylan at Budokan is a live album, released August 1978 in Japan only, followed by a worldwide release in April 1979. It was recorded during his 1978 world tour and is composed mostly of the artist's greatest hits. The performances in the album are radically altered from the originals. In some respects the arrangements are more conventional than the original arrangements, for which the album was criticized. The audio recording is from shows on 28 February and 1 March 1978.
