Offered is a 1st Pressing release of Morrison Hotel, the 5th studio album by the fabulous Psychedelic / Blues Rock Band, The Doors.

It is the hard to find textured, gatefold cover edition. The LP is the label variant, pressed by the H.V. Waddell Company (please see the deadwax matrix below), and released on February 20, 1970.

Wikipedia  reports this bit of history about the iconic Morrison Hotel / Hard Rock Cafe photos on the gatefold cover:

"The cover photo was taken by Henry Diltz at Morrison Hotel, South Hope Street, Los Angeles. The band weren't given permission to photograph, so did so while the clerk was called away from the desk. The band jumped right behind the windows and hit their places without shuffling as Diltz took the shot. The rear cover features a photograph of the Hard Rock Café at nearby 300 East 5th Street. The founders of the later (and otherwise unrelated) Hard Rock Cafe chain used the name, having seen it on the Doors' album. The building is now home to a convenience store."

THE VINYL -  EX+ : This beautiful record is lightly played. From the close up label photos, you can see little evidence of spindlewear on the bright, "Big Red E" Elektra Labels. 

Both sides of the LP surface retain all of their original gloss. 
 
There is a mark visible on B2, however it is shallow. I did a playgrade on that & heard no interference from it. 
                                                     
The record shows exceptional care and handling, and the stereo playback is impressive.




THE GATEFOLD COVER -   NM :  Please see photos / textured / exceptionally well-stored / bright colors / sharp corners / no edgewear / no ringwear / all of the seams, including the spine, are intact / no writing, paper loss, stains or dirt.

Included is the original, Elektra paper inner sleeve (please see photos).   

We have placed both the cover and the LP into separate, protective plastic sleeves.
