This is a very nice copy of this desirable BLUE NOTE album, "UNITY", by organist LARRY YOUNG, with JOE HENDERSON, Tenor Sax, WOODY SHAW, Trumpet, and ELVIN JONES, drums. This is smoking, hard swinging early 60's BLUE NOTE JAZZ at its best!

This LP was released in the early 60's, and this is most likely the first stereo pressing. It features the well known Blue and White  label. It features the NEW YORK USA address. The run out groove has the "ear" as well as the Van Gelder stamp. It also has the matrix BNLP #ST-84221 hand etched in the run out grooves. The labels are clean, with very slight spindle marks.  The LP itself is the thick vinyl associated with these early 60s pressings. This LP is in a very conservatively rated VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) condition, with clean, bright playing surfaces, with only a few light sleeve marks. I would say the LP is closer to VG++/MINT MINUS. NO feel-able scratches at all. Almost completely flawless, virtually no marks. The sound is beautiful...that classic, gorgeous, rich Blue Note sound, but of course, there will be an occasional pop or click. This is a 60 year old record, and its not absolutely flawless.  Its all about the music, and this LP plays great! Ive been advised by a friend who is a very experienced seller to be very conservative on my ratings, as Im an avid collector, but a relatively new "seller".The cover is in VG- condition,with split top seam, solid spine and bottom seam, and moderate shelf wear for an album that is close to 60 years old. There is a slight tear on the top left corner of the back cover, that cuts into the word "stereo". (see picture). Also, this was a "cut-out" probably in the early to mid 70's, so there are two small drill holes in the top two corners (again, see pics). The cover is still very presentable. The classic cover with its distinctive graphics, are sharp and clear.

I am a Jazz Pianist and Recording Artist, and have been collecting Rare Jazz LPs for many years. This is one from my personal collection. I assure you, all the LPs I will be offering here have been meticulously taken care of, and only played rarely, on a Sota Sapphire Turntable, with a Grado Reference Cartridge. They have been kept inside a temperature controlled room in my home, in plastic dust jackets. In other words, you can bid in confidence, knowing these LPs come from someone who has loved them and babied them. I reluctantly am beginning to sell some of my LPs, and hope they go to someone who will love them as I have.

All LPs will be carefully packed in proper LP boxes, well protected,and sent USPS Media Rate, unless specifically needed sooner. We can send priority mail if desired. Shipping costs are always based on your location. I do not add "handling"fees, costs will be exactly as I am charged by the shipper of choice.
