Description

An early deepgroove mono pressing with a West 61st St. address on the jacket and 47 West 63rd St on the label of The Sermon featuring Jimmy Smith on Organ, Lee Morgan on Trumpet, Lou Donaldson and George Coleman on alto sax, Tina Brooks on Tenor Sax, Kenny Burrell and Eddie McFadden on guitars, Art Blakely and Donald Bailey on drums.  Tracks are The Sermon, J.O.S and Flamingo.  Blue Note 4011.

The jacket shows a little age related fading on the rear, has a rub on the spline that is beginning to splity, and some laminate peel on the front.  The record has quite a few hairlines, but it plays great on my table using a mono cartridge. RVG and an ear in the deadwax

This record is part of my personal collectin of Jazz LP's accumulated over the past 50+ years.  I have decided it is time to sell my collection.

I try to grade records accurately. Most records are play graded.  I will list in the description any obvious flaws or defects.  I play all of the mono records listed using a Miyabe mono cartridge on an Oracle turntable with a Grahm 2.5 arm.  I find that mono records with some surface marks generally play fine when played with my mono cartridge.  Not necessarily the case when played on my other table with a stereo cartridge.  So, for the mono records, keep in mind they have been played using a mono cartridge and the report or description is based upon how they play on my table with a mono cartridge.

Quoted shipping in the domestic U.S. is by Media Mail. Quoted international shipping is by USPS first class international mail. Heavier packages must be shipped by USPS International Priority mail. I prefer to combine shipping to save costs.  All shipping will be quoted at the end of the listing(s). Records are shipped in heavy cardboard mailers designed specifically for LP's with bubble wrap or cardboard inserts for protection.

If you aren't happy or satisfied with a purchase, you can return the record for a refund of the full purchase price (less shipping).

Ebay demands that all records be shipped within a specified time after payment.  If you want a record held for future shipping, please email me so I know that is your intention. I will work with you on delayed payment and shipping so we don't run afoul of ebay's requirements.

If you have any questions about the record, please ask them before the auction closes. I will assume that all bidders know what they are bidding on and I will not accept returns becuase the buyer bid by mistake etc.
