*** BLUE MOUNTAIN EAGLE ***
Atco SD-33-324 Stereo. This had been sealed and I opened to record it, so it's been played only once. A great record for sure, Acid Archives says it much better than I could: " As far as music per $ value goes this is one of the best scores out there. A 2nd-tier supergroup of sorts, these guys put together an LP of ballsy psych-hard rock transition tunes that ranks with any private press. Fat production with dual guitar leads, awesome bass runs (by Randy Fuller!) and tight ensemble singing. Occasional X-ian concerns in the lyrics and it does have an Agape/All Saved Freak Band feel. The sound is a consistently balanced mix of westcoast rock, British hard rock and early Southern rock; it would have fit well on the Nasco label. To nitpick some, the male ensemble singing creates a somewhat detached feel and the production is too slick in places, but if on a private label and with a female vocalist this would have been a $500 LP. Great opening track gives a good idea of the album's sound."
