BLUE ASH – Hearts & Arrows. You Are The Cosmos YATC-10. Spanish release. FACTORY SEALED NEW 2-LP VINYL RECORD ALBUM SET + 7” EP. Issued in 2015 as a vinyl only release. Comes in a gatefold cover with a bonus 7” of four acoustic tracks.  24-track, + 4 on the bonus 7”, compilation bringing together the cream of their 70s recordings. MEMBERS:  Frank Secich (bass, vocals), David Evans (drums, vocals), Bill Bartolin (lead guitar, vocals), and Jim Kendzor (lead vocals).

DESCRIPTION:  Features 24 tracks, including Baby I Just Want You and Smash My Guitar.  Comes with a bonus 4-track acoustic 7".  And, in case you’re wondering, a lot of the tracks do appear on the long out of print Not Lame 2-CD release Around Again collection issued in 2004, except that Elementary Dr. Watson, It Don't Bother Me, If I Were Ever Minus You, Everywhere I Go, A Million Miles Away, Make Sure You Give It Back, and Instantly I Knew I Loved You have never been released anywhere. The version of Smash My Guitar is a different version from the No More No Less recording sessions.

SIDE BAR:  If you get a sense of déjà vu when you look at the front cover art of this release it’s because You Are The Cosmos would go on to issue the album 15 Number Ones In A Perfect World in 2016 with the same front cover art except the background for that release was orange instead of the yellow on this release.

For your further reading enjoyment and enlightenment I offer the following background on Blue Ash:

Blue Ash, from the Youngstown, Ohio area, formed in the summer of 1969 by bassist Frank Secich & vocalist Jim Kendzor. Guitarist Bill Yendrek and drummer David Evans were recruited later that summer. The band debuted at The Freak Out, a club in Youngstown, Ohio, on October 3, 1969. They gained a loyal following playing an endless stream of one-nighters over that year. In October 1970, Bill Yendrek, was replaced by guitarist/songwriter Bill "Cupid" Bartolin. Blue Ash continued playing 250-300 dates a year throughout Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and West Virginia, while the songwriting team of Frank Secich and Bill Bartolin accumulated an enormous amount of original material. In June 1972, Blue Ash signed a production contract with Peppermint Productions of Youngstown and started recording and sending out demos. In late 1972, they were signed to Mercury Records by A&R man Paul Nelson. Their first album, No More, No Less, was released in May 1973 and received rave reviews in the rock press. It is considered a power pop classic, and is regarded as highly collectible among fans of that genre (it was finally released on CD on the Collectors' Choice label in September 2008). Blue Ash toured and opened for such acts as the Stooges, Bob Seger, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent and more but for lack of sales they were dropped by Mercury Records in May 1974. Blue Ash continued to play live and record, adding drummer Jeff Rozniata who replaced David Evans in 1974. They were signed to a singles deal with Playboy Records in 1977. The first single, Look At You Now became a regional hit in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Mississippi, as well as in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Playboy then offered an album deal. The LP Front Page News was recorded in Los Angeles in August 1977 and released in October of that year. It was selling well, but in early 1978 Playboy International pulled the plug on Playboy Records and Blue Ash was once again without a label. They called it quits in 1979. Of course, the band’s history didn’t end there, but for the purposes of this release covers the years of their original run for the roses.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers.

RETURN POLICY:

NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:

US Customers:  Please wait at least two weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. All packages are shipped with confirmation/tracking, you will received an automatically generated shipping notice from Ebay e-mail with your tracking number. It has been several years since I’ve had a package not make its US destination, so risk is minimal.

I do my best to quickly post packages, but once the package is in the hands of the world’s postal system it is beyond my control. With First-Class Package International Service my only option for investigating the loss of your package is to verify that it left this country to its destination country. Most all delayed/lost packages have disappeared/been delayed after they have reached their destination country. NOTE:  Based on recent buyer feedback, International packages have been moving much slower these days; it is not unusual for a package to take over three weeks for delivery, though normally packages should arrive in 7 to 15 business days.
