MINTY CLEAN TOP COPY of really hard to find second LP. We've had only a couple decent copies in psast recent years, been awhile ...The record just never seemed to be around. Here's the *best* of the couple we did manage to locate awhile back and we've hung on to this copy for awile, It's M- in all aspects (see full details below)

Rare always hard to find 1970 Original pressing in THICK gatefold cover. Seldom ever surfaces, this TRANSWORLD project via "Ember" through Canadian sources revealed an even better LP as their second effort, from the one titled "Contrasts" with the naked female gatefold released in the USA. This issue was as close as the LP got to the U.S. when not any of the American labels had bothered to notice what a solid record this was/is. Blonde on Blonde had a heavy year of touring in 1969 supporting their "Contrasts" LP. The group made a band member change and came right out swinging the following year ('70) with "Rebirth" ....

Blonde on Blonde's second studio album Rebirth is a bit more balanced totality compared to their debut LP Contrasts. "Contrasts" their first includes some really good material and as good as it is (huge rating by collectors who seek the LP) it's their second, REBIRTH that while doesn't get attention deserved because of rarity (many have never heard). The case for "Rebirth" is one that elevates the group even higher because this album includes all strong material ranging from good to great and it's hard to go wrong with so much potential.

Two of the biggest highlights are "Circles" and "Colour Questions" which are both quite fantastic. The rest of the material while arguably notas mindblowing but still very entertaining. Listeners should be mindful of the way Blonde On Blonde mixes the elements of psychedelic rock and early progressive rock. Rebirth is a clear step forward from it's predecessor.

"Around about 150,000 rock fans had at least the chance to hear BLONDE ON BLONDE in August of 1969 when they played at the legendary British Rock Festival "Isle Of Wight." 1970 found the group had released their second album, "Rebirth" which was also the introduction of David Thomas who replaced singer/guitarist Ralph Denyer.  In the role of lead vocalist (he also picked up a large slice of the writing chores), Thomas was considerably more versatile than Denyer had been. The extra firepower provided by Thomas' cool and versatile vocals was apparent in the form of a tougher, more comfortable rock oriented sound on tracks like 'Broken Hours' and the should've-been-a-radio-hit 'Heart without a Home'.  That said, Blonde On Blonde's "Rebirth" was fairly varied, including stabs at early UK progressive rock styles ('Castles In the Sky'), progressive romps ('You'll Never Know Me/Release') and fuzz-propelled rockers ('November'). As before Gareth Johnson's versatile guitar provided many of the highlights - check out his scorching solos on 'Circle' and 'Colour Question'.  Not that it mattered one way or the other, but for some strange reason bassist Richard Hopkins was credited as 'Richard John'.  

Nothing more than a personal preference, this one strikes as being the best of their three LPs.  Unlike the debut, their sophomore release never saw an American release, though the Trans-World label picked it up for this Canadian release. "

                 CONDITION: The cover: rated: M- THICK gatefold cover, About as nice as you can hope for, strong colors, no bends, no writing and no split seams! NICE! Good luck trying to find a copy or better one, not being smug, just the heads-up fact to act now if at all interested!  

The vinyl: Rated: M- TOP COPY very clean, hard to find any better. Sold our only other copy VGish condition and was snapped up as soon as we presented it at one of the record conventions we tour through out the year. This copy, well, it's a permanent number for someone on the prowl for ... Plays well as the M- grade advises, and has clean labels too.
