A first issue UK 1969 album in original condition, featuring:

1. ‘Blind Faith’, self titled and only album originally released in 1969 in the UK on Polydor records. The front sleeve photo was and still is considered to be controversial, so much so, the American record company issued it with an alternative sleeve photo. This image, titled ‘Blind Faith’ became the inspiration for the name of the band itself, which had been unnamed when the artwork was commissioned,

2. original first issue UK 1969, red Polydor record labels with an ‘outer ridge’, each side,

3. an unusual sleeve as the ‘usual’ text found printed on the right side, inner panel of the ‘gate fold’ sleeve of, ‘Distributed in the UK by Polydor records Ltd and Island records Ltd, is not printed on the sleeve,

4. comes with its original UK 1969 period dated, 09/9, being September 1969, inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: an original first issue UK 1969 ‘gate fold’ sleeve is in excellent++ condition. The spine is in excellent condition and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges of the sleeve are excellent and have remained sharp and clean. The two inner panels of the ‘gate fold’ sleeve have remained clean and white. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original dated 09/9, being September 1969 inner sleeve. A very clean and original period inner sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the inner sleeve. There are some slight age related marks to each side.

THE RECORD: side one is in MINT condition, the record has been graded under normal daylight conditions. Side two is in excellent condition, it would have been graded higher, as excellent++, but the playing surface, see photo, appears that over the years the vinyl has ‘reacted !’ and has caused a ‘mottled’ effect !. The record is made from the quality period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix are: 583059 A / 1 420 10 19 and 583059 B / 1 420 19 21.

The mother / stampers are: ?

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent+, with excellent quiet grooves. Side two plays excellent. Each side plays with a full powerful period, stereo sound.

THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in MINT condition, side two is in near MINT condition. Each record label is free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVE, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
