BLACK SABBATH - BLACK SABBATH (847 903 VTY) LP
Early Australian Vertigo pressing (1972) with Swirl labels and laminated gatefold jacket
Hand-scribed dead wax etchings: 847903 1Y. 2YS 1486. + 847.903. 2Y 2YS 1487.
Gatefold jacket is fully laminated front and back and is in great condition. Very minor signs of shelf-wear to the bottom edge, extremely minor (typical) bruising to the corners. Spine is nice and square with NO splits, jacket displays NO tears, creases or writings. Please examine the photos carefully using the zoom function. Nicely presented and seldomly seen in this condition. EX- condition.
This is the Fontana branded jacket which pre-dates the Vertigo one. Phonogram used up the balance of Fontana jackets after the label change before switching to the ones with the new logo.
Vinyl retains a deep shine and luster. Whilst in normal light it appears quite nice, under very bright artificial light it shows quite a lot of fine superficial hairlines as well as a more obvious mark across the first 2 tracks. Most of these are cosmetic only and inaudible, but there's occasional clicks and pops here and there - although they're not majorly intrusive or consistent enough to really spoil the overall playback. Also some crackle at the lead-in but it settles down substantially before the first track starts. Also a small nick to side 2 on the first track but otherwise free of any *serious* visible flaws to the vinyl. Not quite perfect but a reasonable keeper. Graded as VG+/- due to the more obvious mark and the small nick on side 2 and priced to reflect the condition. Small writing on labels.

We care and we pack records properly with card stiffeners and the vinyl outside of the jacket. We don't sell anything we wouldn't be happy to include in our personal vinyl collection = NO unpleasant surprises for you! Quality costs a little more but as any serious collector knows, it's the condition that matters - and the value of excellent vinyl examples will always soar above the mediocre.
