Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.

We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.

We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status!  Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

As you can see, this vinyl is the EARLY 2nd 1973  PRESSING- Stored from new this LP remains in pristine play condition everywhere.

WITH THE WHITE 'WWA' LETTERING on THE CENTRE LABELS

BUT... NO CATALOGUE NUMBER ABOVE THE SPINDLE WHICH WAS ADDED ON THE LATER 3rd PRESSES

The first press being the silver lettering and //1 matrix -this copy is the second //2 press. Still very rare.

This pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age.

There are some light whisp lines, a couple of 'light surface marks' that at first inspection appeared to be a potential problem..but amazingly nothing sounded at all..no clips or sticks anywhere.

There are also a couple of little hairlines that do not sound -and thats it-  nothing else! 

Clearly this LP has been archived for many many years, a few little dust specs are on the vinyl when we slid it for checking..

There are well below average spider lines around the centre hole-

IT REMAINS IN SUPERB PLAY  CONDITION.

There is some dust on the vinyl where it has stood for so long untouched!

On playing through we heard nothing in the dead grooves bar the tiniest of static in the dead grooves...

NOTHING DURING 'FLUFF' THE QUIET ACOUSTIC TRACK, AND NOTHING DURING ANY OTHER QUIET PASSAGES..

OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.

THE LABELS   MINT 

FLAT MATT LABELS WITH WHITE 'WWA' LOGO, BUT NO 'CATALOGUE NUMBER ABOVE THE HOLE'

THE SLEEVE     EX

Correct very short lived 'second sleeve'  UK issued GATEFOLD - by WWA

Second sleeves had the following details as far as we have learned.....

It features a WHITE SQUARE spine. (later sleeves were glossier and rounded spine)

This sleeve has the black rim around the gatefold picture

A MATT FINISH WITH NO PRINTER CREDITS ON THE BACK- (Later sleeves had the printers name added)

** Only the first edition sleeve had a textured finish and no 'black frame on the inside gatefold' **

AFTER THESE WWA COPIES WERE DELETED,  THE ALBUM WAS RE-ISSUED ON NEMS.

SO THIS COPY HERE..?

THIS WIDE SPINE MATT FINISH SLEEVE IS A REALLY NICE EXAMPLE OF THESE 2nd SLEEVES

 IT SHOWS MINIMAL SIGNS OF SHELF WEAR AND A LITTLE DISCOLOURATION ON THE WHITE CARD.. (A 'TRUE WHITE' ONE FROM THE FIRST PRINT IS BEYOND THE RAREST EXPECTATIONS THESE DAYS)

The edges are all super clean with LITTLE traces of rub, and all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition

THE BLACK INKS ARE super with just some very minimal rub or wear around each edge - and just some feint discolour on the white side open edge.

No powdery white ringwear - OR ring press, and all edges are super crisp.

The tiniest of tip rub , and a couple of tiny dinks on the open edges .

There are  a fair few light spider liens on the edges

NOW!! the open out of the gatefold is astonishing. We cannot add any more than this! ITS A BEAUTY! ..It has the small black 'frame edge' which all second sleeves had..only the very first 'textured sleeves had no framed edge'.

THE INNER SLEEVE   EX STRONG 

PAPER LYRIC INNER..A few very light creases, no tears or rips..no scissoring, superb
