BLACK SABBATH
PARANOID
UK 1970, Vertigo 6360 011

All UK Swirl-pressing are collectable, but this here is something special:
the very rare 1st UK pressing of this Hardrock classic!

The vinyl has the big swirl logo on side B, the matrix numbers are
Side A – 6360011 1Y//1 v 420
Side B – 6360011 2Y//1 v 420

There record is housed in the extremely rare 1st issue gatefold sleeve crediting “Management/ Jim Simpson, Big Bear, Birmingham”. This credit was removed after the first sleeves had been printed.

Vinyl: ex-
(A very nice copy! I would grade side A as ex and side B as vg+; side B has two inaudible surface scratches; the record has a full dynamic sound, there is only verly light crackle in some silent passages, the rest plays great!)

Cover: vg(-)
(the unlaminated gatefold cover has some rubbing, seamwear and a 2cm-damage at the top of the spine; two very small tears on the front were nice "fixed" with a black pen, which is hardly visible at all;
the inside of the gatefold is ex;
the backcover has some ringwear and a few small tears (see photo))

m-: As good as new, without any background noise.

ex : Shows only very minor signs that it was played. There might only be very, very light crackle at times, but nothing serious. Even most mint-collectors should be satisfied with records in this category.

vg+: Light occasional crackle and perhaps an occasional minor “pop” might occur; still very good to listen to.

vg: There is (occasional) background noise, but no major flaws. Details are explained in each description.

vg-: Still enjoyable, but background noise can at times disturb the fun. Details are explained in each description.
