BLACK SABBATH - PARANOID LARGE VERTIGO SWIRL 1Y1 420/2Y1 420 MATRIX Year: 1970 Cat: 6360011
- On offer here is a presentable copy of this classic Sabbath album with the earliest first press matrix and large swirl label..
- The matt gatefold cardboard sleeve shows some wear but this is mainly confined to the bottom edges and rear of the gatefold. The front is mostly flat with a few light creases towards the spine. The rear has a a few light fingerprints and slight ringwear. The sleeve opening has a very small tear to the sleeve opening and slight feathering. The spine is intact and mostly legible with some flecks of wear (see pic). Top edge has very little wear and the bottom edges have some rubbing through towards the opening and spinal corner. Inside the gatefold is unmarked with no signs of wear at all. Overall Graded VG
- Plain diecut paper inner has catalogue number and 567 written at top right. Couple corner creases. Graded VG.
- The vinyl has great gloss and superb labels. Side 1 is virtually unmarked and Side 2 has one mark about 2cm long spanning the last two tracks and a few very light hairlines, none of which affect play. The labels are clean and bright with some spindle trails.Visually graded EX/EX- When played there was some some noise on the leadins and between tracks but the music is mostly a great listen. There was one spot halfway through track 1 when it clicks/jumps four times in very quick succession. Because of this I have playgraded the record as VG+. The rest of the tracks play superbly.

My records are graded in accordance with Record Collector's Grading System as follows:
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
