Description
This is a fine follow-up LP to their stunning debut album. It's 'Paranoid' by Black Sabbath and was released on the UK Vertigo swirl label in 1970. The catalogue no. is 6360 011. It's a stereo recording. The music is wonderful heavy prog psych and the band is led by the legendary Ozzy Osbourne on vocals.
OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve which is not laminated is in fine condition. There is some wear on both front and rear covers and there is also wear along the top and bottom edges. The spine shows some wear as well and the wording is 100% readable. It states on the inner portion of the sleeve - 'Produced by Rodger Bain for Tony Hall Enterprises - Recorded at Regent Sound and Island Studios - Engineers/Tony allom and Brian Humphries - all compositions by Iommi/Osbourne/Butler/Ward - all compositions published by Essex Music Int. Ltd. - Album design and photography by Keef'. There is a very small tear on the right hand side of the inner portion of the sleeve but this does not detract from the overall quality of the sleeve. I've graded the sleeve as Ex-- (I never grade anything as Mint). You just won't find better than this.
INNER SLEEVE - This is die cut paper bag type with a clear polythene lining. It states in blue wording on one side - 'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS...ETC British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 - MADE IN ENGLAND - 4913000 15804 937'. There is some minor creasing and discolouration on both sides of the inner sleeve and there are a couple of very minor tears in the diecut area of one side of the sleeve but these do not detract from the overall quality. I've graded the inner sleeve Ex-.
RECORD - The record itself looks very clean and there are some marks on both sides which do produce surface noise which can be heard in quiet passages and between tracks. There is minor surface noise with very occasional pops and clicks on both sides. There are no jumps on any of the tracks. The labels are in fine condition with minor spindle marks. There is no damage to the labels on either side. The label on side one is the full Vertigo swirl type with no track listings. The label on side two features the smaller Vertigo swirl label and track listings for both sides. It states on the label on side two - 'Produced by Roger Bain for Tony Hall Enterprises'. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are as follows - side one - 6360011 1Y//1 V420 1 2 4 - side two - 6360011 2Y//1 V420 1 1 6. I have graded the record as VG+ and I believe that this is very fair. The winner of this auction will not be disappointed.
