1Y#1 AND 2Y#1 MATRIX UNBELEIVABLY RARE TO FIND THE VERY EARLIEST EVER!!!!!

Here listed from my personal collection is the rare earliest 1st UK pressing of Black Sabbaths Paranoid! I have decided to list this for its rarety! Features of course the original Vertigo Swirl labels and #1 matrix endings on both sides! The audio seperation is absolutely awesome together with the real deep basey and raunchy feel that in my opinion can not be found or felt on any other format available! Any who know the type of vinyls that i list on this site, would know that my prime interest is the audio quality. This vinyls audio is cristal clear and very vibrant throughout and plays with (no) distortion or background noise that I heard at all. So together with the audio clarity and visualy this has definately not been overplayed in my opiunion.  It is important for me to point out that there is the odd light static click\tick heard hear and there heard but nothing consistant and mostly obliterated by the awesome audio which is why i have graded this at least excellent. But I heard nothing that seriously detracted from the overall awesome audio experiance! I would class myself as highly critical and I have played this at very very loud volume on a top system. Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!!! I own all of the early Sabbath UK vinyls and many variations and in my personal opinion and experiance the earliest pressings pressed from the 1st masters produce, without a dought the best audio available on vinyl!  To sum up the audio is superbe crista clear and vibranyt throughout with minimal interfearance! This is complete with the original 1st press unlaminated gatefold and original Vertigo record sleeve! 

Black Sabbath are an English heavy metal band from Birmingham. The original band line up of Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Terence "Geezer" Butler (bass), and Bill Ward (drums) is the same as the current line up (2007) although there have been many shifts of personnel over the years.

Paranoid is the influential and iconic second album by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath, and contains some of their most famous work, including the songs "Iron Man", "War Pigs", and the title track "Paranoid."

Released September 18, 1970 in the UK, only seven months after the band's debut, Paranoid is Black Sabbath's only UK #1 album, displacing Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water for one week.

Paranoid peaked at number 12 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart (North America). The singles "Paranoid" and "Iron Man" peaked at number 61 and number 52, respectively, on the Pop singles chart. "Paranoid" as a single went to number 4 in the UK. In 2003, the album was ranked number 130 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

The original UK vinyl release was in a gatefold sleeve, with the generic Vertigo 'swirl' inner bag. The inner of the gatefold had a b/w photo of the band, posed outdoors on a grassy hill, being their first appearance on album artwork. To spread the original picture over the gatefold, Osbourne was separated from the other members of the band and a section of the grass was copied and dropped into the gap. This is only readily apparent when one sees that original promo photo, whereupon it is then easy to spot the added grass on the LP.

The album was originally titled "War Pigs" but it is said that the record company changed it to "Paranoid" because of sensitivity about the Vietnam War. However, the band's visual interpretation of a "War Pig" was still featured on the cover. Nonetheless, the album's title and its picture of man with a sword jumping out from behind a tree meshed well together and the cover is now considered a classic album cover.

The labels.

The original VERTIGO labels are in awesome condition!!! features the swirl on side a. and the swirl logo and track listings on side b.(only early press)!!!!! All rights.... are featured around the label rim(only early press)!!!!!!! Very minimal spidering can only be seen angled to the light (It is quite obvious to me that together ith the awesome audio that this has only had very minimal play only)   !!! so rare  for an album that is 37 years old!!!!! very very collectable one of the hardest Sabbath albums to find like this!!!!

The vinyl

This lays perfectly flat on the turntable! On initial inspection this looks truly superbe for an unbeleivable 39 year old 1st UK pressing! Any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light are very light whysy sleeve removal marks and the odd very very light minor needle scratch.

The Audio Quality

This vinyl was played and listened to very carefully track for track at least four times prior to listing and as played at very loud volume! I have tried to accurately give an honest acount on the audio quality as i heard it! The first thing that hits you hen the needle is put on the vinyl is the absolute clarity and vibrancy real raunchy deep bassey feel on this pressing, Truly stunning audio! Important to note that there are no loud clicks or pops at all! 

 (please note this vinyl has (not) been over played !!!!(This audio sounds truly awesome throughout)  there no signs of grooveware or distortion during the audio play of this vinyl!!!! I have played this through track for track and the audio quality is superbe cristal clear and extreemely vibrant!!!! (In strong light only any marks that could possibly be seen would be light whyspy sleeve removal marks\scuffs and very few light surface needle scratches which does have very minimal effect on the audio only.  (no) audio sounding marks or needle scratches that would produce any loud clicks or pops. The audio on this pressing in my opinion is superbe for the most part for a very 1st pressing!!!!!Even in between tracks and quiet places there is extreemely minimal noise, I heard no surface noise just the very light static crackle intermitantly only on quiet places.!!! Please note! It is easy to be critical about these 70s pressings! Please allow for very light static clicks (very very light) on the run off groove and just in to the intro of Iron Man but as soon as the audio kicked in during this track it was truly awesome and exceptional through out!   Please note! This light interfearance was not heavy or loud clicks or pops!! Absolutely stunning audio seperation only ever found like this on tre 1st pressings!!! I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and the 1st pressing by this awesome band ''black sabbath''!!!Audio is graded as Excellent!

This is the original 1st press gatefold  (Unlaminated) cover RARELY EVER SEEN IN THIS SUPERBE CONDITION!!   this shows very (very) minimal storage ware\creases only really noticable at the rear if looked for! only the very lightest rubbing scuff marks\indents can be only be noticed\seen if looked for angled in the light but very superficial!!!!(see photo) superbe condition of this 1st pressing cover which is nearly 37 years old!!!!!!!! (no) splits (no) tares (no) nasty hand writing!!!! IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS!!Being primarily black in colour these are often prone to nasty ringware this has been stored for at least 25 years in a case with the vinyl seperated from its sleeve and vinyl so it is still in superbe condition for 39 years old! !!! Must grade at least excellent if not better!

This is the original vertigo poly lined sleeve becoming fragile with age! Small edge splits begining and light genearal staining\fading with age. This is the original! PLEASE NOTE! THE VINYL IS NOW ALWAYS STORED SEPERATELY FROM THE ORIGINAL SLEEVE AND COVER.!!!!!
