Description
Here's a mega rare BLACK SABBATH's first & self-titled LP, released in 1970
Original UK first pressing, on SWIRL vertigo (857 903 VTY)
This is the first issue, released on the ''swirl'' Vertigo label with the wording ''Vertigo'' below the spindle hole and 'A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT' text. Comes in a gatefold cover and with a ''swirl'' inner bag.
The first issue (my copy) had an erroneous copyright warning stating that “Copyright subsists in all Stereo recordings…”.
The second UK press corrected this to “Copyright subsists in all Vertigo recordings…”.
Gatefold sleeve :
VG+ (a name & a date- 1970 !- written on front cover, on the left corner -see photo. Also a sticker mark, colored in black, on front cover, at the right of Black Sabbath's name. A little fold on back cover & the edge has been colored in black, nothing bad for a now 46 years old record !
Comes with a vertigo inner sleeve, in fair condition (see photo)
Record :
Both sides plays very well, dynamic & deep sound without background noise. There's only a little jump side 1, at the beginning of the first track.
Side 1 looks VG (some surface marks) but plays VG+, with a little jump on the first track.
Side 2 looks & plays VG++ (some light surface marks that do not affect play)
