Description
This is the debut LP by one of the real greats/beginners of heavy metal music. But together with Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple these three had far more than a simple 'heavy' sound, they all managed to marry the heavy stuff with the softer progressive side, hence their popularity and longevity.

Incredibly hard to find very first few copies pressed with 'A Philips Record Product' on the one label. The other label has the large spiral Vertigo artwork. Also on this very 1st issue side A has 4 tracks BUT only has song separations on 3 tracks. Later issues have the normal 4.

In normal light the vinyl looks perfect and clean. Under strong light there are a few hairlines, scuff marks but absolutely nothing audible. I played this through and it sounded great. The sleeve is excellent. Again, the very earliest gatefold sleeve for this issue with pink Vertigo logo and pink lettering on the spine - only these early copies have this.
The only signs of wear are on the corners, top of spine, all very minor and on the spine itself there is a thin line of wear - still all pink letters visible.
The spiral Vertigo inner bag is clean and excellent with a little browning.
So you have here the real deal - all the correct things to show this is the very limited 1st pressing with the Philips credit, pink motif etc. And not only that you have a top example condition wise - a few small signs that this is a 45 year old record but you would be pushed to find a better copy of this one. Certainly all items grade EXCELLENT.

NB. Be very careful of the many copies of this LP on Spiral Vertigo advertised as 1st pressings - not the case unless it has the Philips text.
