BLACK SABBATH – BLACK SABBATH
Ultra rare UK 1ST EDITION on the VERTIGO SWIRL label!
All details relevant to genuine first pressings of this top end collectable are present, including the exact wording and fonts across the inside gatefold sleeve (see photos) and the all important ‘A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT' visible on the side b label just below the word ‘VERTIGO’. The matrix numbers in the run out grooves are VO6 1Y 1 420 12 3 / VO6 2Y/1 420 12 12
The condition of the vinyl is a strong Very Good although many would grade it better than that! Both sides have a superb clean gloss and shine, there’s just one or two light scuff marks visible but these do not cause any skipping or sticking, the most you hear is a faint bit of clicking during a couple of quieter passages at the start of side A but these are never a serious problem, they just add to the authentic vinyl sound and across both sides this music really delivers with proper hard impact when played at LOUD volume. This is really what the first pressing stuff is all about so don’t miss out on this one!
The gatefold sleeve is very good and remains fully intact without any writing on it or deliberate defacement of any kind. There is some fairly advanced edge and spine scuffing along with the general effects of shelf wear, light creasing and handling but it remains a fully useable and great looking original classic album cover. The poly lined original Vertigo inner sleeve is also in great shape, the original owner did write a couple of numbers on the inner including the records cat. number but it is fully intact and has no serious damage or wear at all. All over this is a great cope of a seriously rare and collectable album.
