CONDITION
SLEEVE: (VG) NON LAMINATED UK GATEFOLD SLEEVE HAS LIGHT WEAR AND STAINING FROM STORAGE. IT FEELS THICKER THAN LATER PRESSINGS. A FEW PRESSURE INDENTS TO FRONT WHERE IT HAS BEEN USED TO LEAN ON WHEN DRAWING AND A FEW LIGHT CREASES ONLY REALLY VISIBLE WHEN ANGLED UNDER BRIGHT LIGHT. MILD RUBBING TO ALL FOUR SCORNER RUBBING TO TOP & BOTTOM. THE INSIDE IS CLEAN WITH SOME ISOLATED WEAR. THE UPSIDE DOWN CROSS HAS WRITING & RECORDING INFO INCLUDING BAND MEMBER CREDITS ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS. IT ALSO HAS THE OZZY'S NAME SPELT 'OSSIE'. THE LETTERING IS SILVER. THERE IS AN SCUFF/SCRATCH THAT GOES DIAGONALLY ACROSS THE LEFT HAND SIDE WHICH CAN BE SEEN WHEN ANGLED IN LIGHT (SEE PICTURE). NO RIPS & NO SPLITS.
SPINE: (VG) THE CAT NO IS PERFECTLY READABLE WITH SOME MILD RUBBING TO TOP AND BOTTOM CORNERS WHERE THE SURFACE HAS LIFTED/RUBBED AWAY. THERE IS SMALL MILD SURFACE SCUFF NEAR THE BOTTOM - LOOKS LIKE IT HAS BEEN BUMPED. NO SPLITS.
INNER: (VG) ORIGINAL PAPER POLYLINED SWIRL INNER IS SUPERB WITH NO SPLITS & NO RIPS. THE POLYLINING HAS COME UNSTUCK ON THE INSIDE TO ONE SIDE BUT STILL REMAINS ATTACHED. LIGHT WEAR FROM USE AND STORAGE. NO SPLITS..
LABELS: (VG) BOTH LABELS ARE FREE FROM ANY UNWANTED WRITING & STICKERS WITH A FEW SPINDLE MARKS AROUND THE CENTRE HOLE ON EACH SIDE AND SOME STAINING VISIBLE WHEN ANGLED UNDER BRIGHT LIGHT.
VINYL VISUALLY: SIDE 1 (VG-) SIDE 2 (VG-) THE VINYL IS COMPLETELY FLAT AND GLOSSY AND HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES! WHEN ANGLED UNDER BRIGHT LIGHT BOTH SIDES HAVE LOTS OF LIGHT AND MILD PAPER SCUFFS AND A FEW HAIRLINES (SOME VERY LONG) WITH SEVERAL LIGHT SCRATCHES AND SCUFFS. MOST OF THE WEAR ON THE VINYL COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY BAD STORAGE/HANDLING. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF 1cm HAIRLINES AT THE START OF SIDE 1 WITH A SMALL LIGHT FEELABLE SCRATCH (ABOUT 1cm LONG) WHICH CAUSES A QUICK SKIP/JUMP AS MENTIONED BELOW. STRICT GRADING! VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND IN ANY CONDITION!PLAYING GRADE: SIDE 1 (FAIR BECAUSE OF THE QUICK SKIP NEAR THE START - THE REST PLAYS EXCELLENT) SIDE 2 (EX-) BOTH SIDES HAVE BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO ON BEYER-DYNAMIC DT-150 HEADPHONES ON A COUPLE OF SYSTEMS WITH A SHURE WHITE LABEL CARTRIDGE & STEREO NEEDLE & BOTH SIDES SOUND AND PLAY SUPERB BUT SIDE 1 HAS A VERY QUICK SKIP/JUMP NEAR THE BEGINNING OF THE FIRST TRACK CAUSED BY THE SMALL MILD SCRATCH MENTIONED ABOVE. THAT IS THE ONLY FAULT!! THERE IS A SOME LIGHT BACKGROUND CRACKLE IN PLACES DURING THE QUIETER PARTS OF THE MUSIC AND LEAD-INS THAT IS LOST BEHIND THE LOUDER MUSIC (THE MAJORITY OF THIS ALBUM IS LOUD!). A COUPLE OF LIGHT POPS BUT THAT'S IT!! THE SOUND QUALITY IS LOUD AND CRYSTAL CLEAR WITH UNWORN GROOVES. NO DISTORTION. THIS VINYL HAS BEEN STORED UNTOUCHED FOR OVER 40 YEARS SO MAY BENEFIT FROM A PROFESSIONAL MACHINE CLEAN. I AM BEING HIGHLY CRITICAL AND MY PLAY GRADE IS ALWAYS BASED ON WHAT I CAN HEAR ON BEYER-DYNAMIC DT-150 HEADPHONES WITH THE TREBLE TURNED UP FULL! EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO FIND IN ANY CONDITION ESPECIALLY AS A GENUINE UK 2ND PRESSING. THE PRODUCTION ON THIS ALBUM IS SIMPLY AWESOME AND IS FAR SUPERIOR TO ANY DIGITAL REMASTER OR VINYL REPRESSING. A VERY PRESENTABLE AND PLAYABLE COPY OF A VERY RARE BLACK SABBATH CLASSIC NOT TO BE MISSED!! JUDGE FOR YOURSELF AND LISTEN TO THE WHOLE ALBUM - CHECK THE LINK BELOW!!

THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN RECORDED AT A LOW LEVEL WITH ALL EQ SETTINGS AT 12 O'CLOCK ON A TECHNICS SL-1210MK2 TURNTABLE WITH A SHURE WHITE LABEL CARTRIDGE AND STEREO NEEDLE. THE AUDIO FILE HAS NOT BEEN BOOSTED, EDITED OR PROCESSED IN ANY WAY - I HAVE LITERALLY PUT THE NEEDLE ON THE RECORD AND RECORDED BOTH SIDES INCLUDING RUN-INS AND RUN-OUTS. IT WAS RECORDED ON CUBASE 6.5 AT 16BIT 44.1kHZ THEN EXPORTED AS MP3 FILE AT 320KBPS. WHAT YOU CAN HEAR IS WHAT THE VINYL SOUNDS LIKE!!
GRADING
All records are graded using the Record Collector Grading System with (+) or (-) to show a slightly higher or lower grade.
M (Mint) : The Record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EX (Excellent): The Record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VG (Very Good) : The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
G (Good) : The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
F (Fair) : The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
