An Archive Copy Never Need To Upgrade!!
Another from my personal collection. I have an exstensive collection of all of the UK Black Sabbath studio albums and most of the variations that I know of. Please note that I will be listing at least the first seven Black Sabbath albums on Ebay in the next few days so please check out my other listings regularly. The rarety will be that they will all be in the best possible collectors archive condition that is rarely found. They all will be barely played no more than a handfull of times by me only.
An absolutely stunning sounding original Vertigo copy! This would be an early 2nd issue pressing #1 #2 matrix endings. I have owned this album from new and only ever initially played this to record to tape and then stored away in my extensive UK Black Sabbath collection for over 40 years or more. This would be the third Vertigo label variation featuring the small logo on side B. Please note, the vinyl has always been stored seperately from the sleeve and cover to protect from ring wear this is how I have always stored my records! The vinyl looks and plays like it has barely ever been played at all in my opinion, certainly just a hand full of plays only! Cristal clear and vibrant audio throughout without any distortion or nasty crackle throughout in fact this is probably one of the best sounding copies that I have heard,, graded as near mint both sides in my opinion! (very rare and scarce to find like this indeed!! This is complete with the original Vertigo record sleeve and early issue original Vertigo gatefold looks just like it has come from the shop!

Black Sabbath is the eponymous debut album by English heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Released on 13 February 1970 in the United Kingdom, and later on 1 June 1970 in the United States, the album reached number eight on the UK Albums Chart and has been categorised as the first major album to be credited with the development of the heavy metal genre!
According to guitarist Tony Iommi, the album was recorded in a single day on 16 October 1969, while other sources say that 17 November 1969 was the date of recording.
Iommi said: "We just went in the studio and did it in a day, we played our live set and that was it. We actually thought a whole day was quite a long time, then off we went the next day to play for £20 in Switzerland." Aside from the bells, thunder, and rain sound effects added to the beginning of the album's opening track, there were virtually no overdubs added to the album.
Iommi recalls recording live: "We thought 'We have two days to do it and one of the days is mixing.' So we played live. Ozzy was singing at the same time, we just put him in a separate booth and off we went. We never had a second run of most of the stuff." Iommi began recording the album with a white Fender Stratocaster, his guitar of choice at the time. A malfunctioning pickup forced him to finish recording with a Gibson SG, a new guitar he had recently purchased as a backup but hadn't played much yet. The SG was a right-handed model which he played upside down.

The debut album BLACK SABBATH, which was recorded in two days in the studio (probably 11-12 November 1969 with. And, seixena cost 600 pounds), and then issued on February 13, 1970, on Friday (!) , after which it took up in the British charts 8th place!
The matrix and mother stampers.
side a. ''VO6'' ''1Y'' ''*1'' ''420 1''
side b. ''VO6'' ''2Y'' ''*2'' ''420 1''
The labels.
The original labels are graded almost as new condition features the swirl on side a. and the swirl logo and track listings on side b.(only early press)! All rights.... are featured around the label rim(only early press)! I can just barely see a hand full of spidering Little if No spindle ware the hole is perfectly round. This has hardly been played very (very) rare for an album that is 43 years old!
The vinyl.
The vinyl is absolutely superbe on initial visual inspection the playing surface looks like new and still retains its sheen from new! (please note this vinyl has only ever been played a hand full of times by me ever! There are certainly no signs of grooveware or distortion! I can't see any marks or needle scratches on the playing surface, importantly no marks that would cause any clicks ticks or pops that I heard even at ultra mega loud volume. Any marks that could possibly be seen would be surface sleeve removal only (To be honest I find it hard to see any at all)
The Audio Quality
I have played this through track for track at very loud volume four times prior to this listing on a top system. The audio quality will blow you away this nearly shook the house down very rich vibrant and cristal clear one of the best sounding copies that I have heard of this pressing! The audio on this pressing in my opinion is as good as it gets, even in between tracks there is extremely minimal noise. This plays as new in my opinion! I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and the 1st by this awesome band ''black sabbath''! Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right!
Please note! That I always make this disclaimer! That although I never heard any clicks or pops during the play of this record please allow for the odd static, certainly not consistant throughout the audio,Please remember this is a genuine 43 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 43 year old system!A constant clean before each play because this vinyl has been laying dormant in a case for over 40 years,, a build up of dirt and dust in the grooves cause static/ticks. A constant clean before each play will reduce this and enhance the audio quality. The cover.
This is the original gatefold (non) laminated cover with black on the inside opening (only early UK press later were white on the inside) which also has the lyric and track contents in the cross! Please note! the misspelling of ''Ossie Osbourne'' ''Osborne'' very rare (only early press) this cover is superb Any storage wear is very minor and barely worth to mention in my opinion. This is very near as pristine in my opinion (see photos) superbe condition of this 1st pressing cover which is nearly 43 years old always stored in a sleeve separated from the vinyl for protection has kept this sleeve looking like new!
The record sleeve.
This is the original swirl polythene lined record sleeve patented and made in england. with (no) splits and amazingly (no) MAJOR staining with age, (no) splits or tares! (please note this is and has always been stored seperately from the vinyl! (please look at the photos) I have taken photos of both sides of the original sleeve so that all aspects can be clearly seen! absolutely superbe!
Please do not underestemate the rarety of this 1st pressing in this condition, they are rarely seen like this!
