Hello,my name is Steve and I have been collecting records (mainly L.P's) for 30 years or more. However, there comes a time when everyone needs to 'downsize' a little and this is the time for me.Consequently I am selling off some of my collection. This will be done usually at the rate of a few every week or so.When buying records I have never concentrated on any particular genre or artist/band.My taste has always been to find the unusual and interesting, not always ultra rare, although you will find some very rare items indeed from time to time in my listings, but those records that you rarely see but may have dipped under the rare price guide radar and we all know there are thousands of these! One thing i have learned over the years is not to become a slave to the price guide. It never ceases to amaze me how much great and rare stuff is not in the guide(s) and equally the truckloads of blandness and quite frankly dross that is still in them! However,I do have a lot of what can be termed 'classic' releases which will also be listed. Many were purchased at the time of original release but like all other collectors many were bought second hand.I think you will find many rare and unusual items on offer regularly. The rarity 'scale' will range from 'difficult to find' to 'virtually impossible' and will cover all genres from Rock to Jazz and incompassing Prog/Psych/Classic Rock/ Indie/DIY/Avant Guard/Country/Blues/Soul/R 'n' B/Electronic/Music Concrete and many others!
All items are from a 'smoke free' envoiroment and the item you see in the photo is the item for sale.I do not use 'library' photos. All items will be sent out within 3 working days of payment being received.
I try to grade conservatively and accurately using the U.K Record Collector grading system but I will use additional +/- suffixes where I deem it necessary to give a more accurate grade.I try to err on the side of caution when grading and will always I beleive downgrade when in doubt.I will only use a 'mint' grade when I know the record has never been played i.e still sealed items or when I myself have owned the record from it's first release and I have played it only once or twice.
I try to give a full and detailed description without you losing the will to live! I think we all know what I mean!
Please see my feedback and bid with confidence.
PACKAGING USED.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT.
I use thick grade high quality professional mailers and stiffeners like the type sold by companies such as Covers 33.This will be the case 9 times out of 10.However,on the odd occasion i will recycle mailers and stiffeners but this will only be rarely and when i do i will always make sure the parcel is extra tight, strong and secure using more protection than is probably necessary.I always take the record out of the outer sleeve to minimise any possible damage in transit.I always put the record together with the inner and outer sleeve inside a protective PVC sleeve. This is then placed between two cardboard stiffeners and taped up securely before putting inside the mailer.I always use plenty of 'fragile' stickers and always clearly mark the package as 'Records. Please do not bend'.For items going overseas i always tape the bottom corners of the package with thick protective 'duct' tape for extra protection. Please see my feedback for comments i have received regarding my packaging.
POSTAGE COSTS:
I have detailed these further down but basically it's like this:
Every package sent within the U.K is sent either 2nd class 'registered signed for' or 'next day special delivery'.I give you the option.I strongly recommend that for expensive items over £50 you choose the 'next day special delivery' option. This option is fully trackable and does not go in with the normal post.It has it's own dedicated service unlike the 'registered signed for' which only confirms a signature on receipt and is posted in with the normal post. The way that i look at it is if you are willing to pay £50 for a record then surely an extra £3.25 for a fully trackable dedicated service is money well spent for the piece of mind.
For packages sent overseas that have a value of £40 or more they will always be sent using a tracking/confirmation of receipt system. This will usually be 'international signed for'.This will incur an extra charge on top of the standard airmail charge. This extra charge will be £5.00.Please remember this when bidding as there will be no exceptions.
I offer postage discounts on multiple purchases which are detailed further down. Please note the multiple purchase discount will only be offered when all items are bought from the same auction list.
My posting timeframe.
I will always try to get to the Post Office to post your package within 3 days of receiving your payment(this does not include Sundays). If for any reason i cannot i.e public holidays, illness etc. i will e-mail you.I will always mark the item as 'payment received and sent' on the day i send the record so you know it's on the way.
RETURNS.
I will accept returns but only for items that are significantly not as discribed. This should never happen as my policy is always to fully play grade before i list except for records that have i owned from new or that are still sealed.Items must be returned to me in the same condition as i sent them. They must be sent back within 5 days of receipt for U.K buyers and 2 weeks for overseas buyers. Please note that i will only refund the original postage cost not the return postage. Please e-mail me via the e-bay message board if you have any problems before returning any item.
Customs delays etc.
Please remember that for items being sent outside the E.U there is always a chance that packages can be held up at customs. This is more likely these days for items going to the U.S.Please allow for this before you contact me.Also remember that the buyer is responsible for paying any customs charges.
PAYMENT.
Payment by Paypal only please. For U.K buyers i will accept personal cheques but please e-mail me to let me know this is how you would like to pay.Item will be sent when payment has cleared into my account. Please make payment within 48 hours of auction end.If you are unable to do this and have a valid reason for the delay please e-mail me before you bid so that i know what your intentions are.If payment has not been received and i have not been contacted beforehand i will issue a 'non-payment' notice after 4 days.If after another 4 days have elapsed and payment is still not forthcoming i will re-list or offer a 'second chance' to another bidder.Sorry to be so strict about this but i feel that if people can be at their computer to put in bids at the last minute then there can be very few excuses to not making payment within a reasonable timeframe.A simple e-mail for curtosy sake is all it takes if a delay is required.
If you have any questions at all about any item please e-mail me via the e-bay message board and i will endeavour to get back to you with all the information you need at the earliest oppertunity. Please do not leave this until the last minute as i am not at my computer 24/7.
We all have to start somehere but if you have a feedback score of less than 5 and you wish to bid on one of my items please e-mail me first to confirm your intentions.Unfortunately the growth of non-paying bidders on e-bay is a common problem now.If you do not e-mail me before bidding i will remove the bid and block any further bids.Sorry but there you go.
Communication is the key! All problems can be sorted out with good communication.
