BLACK CAT BONES -
BARBED WIRE SANDWICH
UK 1970 FIRST PRESS
DECCA NOVA LABEL SDN 15
FIRST PRESS MACHINED MATRICES
Happy to present the classic ‘Barbed Wire Sandwich’ from Black Cat Bones in its original UK Nova release from 1970. This is a heavy album with Leaf Hound connections and a tune in ‘Death Valley Blues’ which bears an uncanny resemblance to ‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’ by Zeppelin - make your mind up which came first?
This LP is “EXTREMELY RARE” and hardly ever comes up for sale, and if it does never in this condition. Only 600 to 900 were ever pressed up, depending on which source to believe. How many would have survived till now?? On average 25% of records from this era would have made it through to the present time, by this account only 150 to 250 copies would still be in existence making this a MEGARARE collectible record.
This is a classic slice of British Blues/Prog from a great band. After this record the band became known as “Leaf Hound” and produced the MEGA Rare “Growers of Mushroom”
This record would grace anybody’s collection, well worth obtaining.
Vinyl: A strong EX. The heavy weight vinyl is in a very pleasing condition. There are a few wispy scuffs between the 2 sides and two or three of the wispiest of hairlines when examined closely under an intense light. There’s no embedded dirt or grime. The LP is a heavy blast with no discernible audio impediment. There are no loud pops, only light surface static, generally quiet track divides, NO distortion, NO clicks or loss of clarity. Obviously NO jumps or sticks.
Sleeve: VG. The front laminated Decca Nova sleeve was printed by Senol Printing Ltd and is in a solid if not spectacular state with no major faults. It shows around a half dozen little spine creases to the left edge, a more defined crease near the bottom right corner and the opening. The spine is near perfect. All text is fully legible and there are no splits. Sits nice and flat. Light ring impression visible when tilted to the front but not intrusive. The sleeve has had protective edge tape around the edges, not the spine and I acquired it in this condition. No damage was done but the traces of where the tape once was are still there. Corners still pretty good and laminate strong with no peeling. Overall a nice, if not perfect example, but still nice and defined. I’m going VG.
Labels: EX. The aqua blue Nova labels are in excellent condition with only mild spindle evidence on either side. NO writing, stickers or residue.
Inner sleeve: EX. The original blue printed polylined inner sleeve.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly! PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one! I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem! This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem. Thanks again!!
