Description
BLACK CAT BONES - BARBED WIRE SANDWICH
Nice copy of this 1970 blues/rock gem with highly presentable original outer sleeve and impressive MONO sound quality
The condition of the vinyl is a solid very good (VG) - the vinyl has retained a nice jet black sheen in normal daylight but closer examination reveals a good number of extremely fine paper scuffs and hairlines, though nothing that is feelable or obviously below the surface, indicating that the record has had a good number of plays but nonetheless looked after. Very good condition labels - all of the text is crisp and clear but there are faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label and also some very mild (but clearly noticeable when held at the right angle in a good light) small smudges, probably due to ageing. Again, very good (VG) condition original 1st press front-side laminated Senol Printing sleeve with firm edges with just the very occasional "nick" on each edge. The opening edges remain firm with no fraying and the art work, colours, and text are all in nice condition with good clarity. The blemishes are a number of laminate creases adjacent and particular to each edge, noticeable rubbing on each corner, a name written on the reverse side which has been filled in with pencil, and a general feel of "grubbiness" on the reverse side with a number of light age/storage/handling marks. Still presentable and still fully functional and a solid "very good" but no better than that. Impressive very good plus (VG+) MONO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, or distortion but there is the occasional random light click along with some occasional light but just noticeable background crackle, a little more noticeable on A3 and during a few of the quieter moments/interludes...nothing nasty though, and every track on this brilliant album still makes for an excellent listen. I should also add that at times the audio quality is truly excellent ("Good Lookin' Woman", for example). Comes with original and excellent condition poly-lined inner sleeve - correctly dated with no seam splits, tears, discolouration, or edge fraying and barely any creasing. An overall nice copy of this 1970 UK 1st press blues/rock gem, albeit with some relatively minor blemishes but still a great listen and remaining rare and sought after.
POSTAGE COSTS :
For the UK £4 using Royal Mail tracked 48;
for continental Europe £12 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,
and for the rest of the world £18 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.
I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.
Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
