BIRDS BIRDS *EXTREMELY RARE FREAKBEAT 7" 45 SINGLE - ORIGINAL 1966 PRESSING [CONDITION: VG+ (borderline Excellent)]

This is 'The Birds' last single under the name 'Birds Birds' whose double-barrelled name was chosen in an attempt to avoid a lawsuit by the famous American group 'The Byrds'. This single was apparently deleted almost immediately on it's release with only a few hundred copies having been sold. I have had this copy in my possession since 1976 and this week I decided to take it along to vinyl specialists www.dimension7.co.uk to show them and this is what they had to say:
"On 6 Dec 2007 we were excited to see this item 'in the flesh!' This 7" single 'Say those magic words/Daddy daddy' by Birds Birds (The Birds) is one of the rarest and most sought after Freakbeat singles of all time! Not only a superb cover of the Pomus-Shuman classic originally recorded by The McCoys in the US, but the B-side is a prime of example of British Freakbeat with fuzz-guitar and distortion co-written and also played by a very young Ronnie Wood and his band. This copy is an original 1966 pressing and is undoubtedly a collectors item. The label features clean and sharp lettering, with no marks, blemishes or hand writing. The vinyl itself is in VG+ condition with only faint surface marks visible. We played it through on both sides and the sound quality is punchy and powerful with only the faintest crackle. Overall a borderline 'Excellent' and hence a very fair and accurate top end VG+ grading from us."

N.B. The grading 'VG+' is in line with that of vinyl record specialists www.dimension7.co.uk (see above) who are known to me personally and have been trading vinyl successfully for 20 years.
