Description

This is the 9th and final DECCA album of Bill Haley and the Comets prior to the famed rock and roll group moving to Warner. This is the ultra rare STEREO LP album and it is in exceptional collector condition. The vinyl appears to have been played very little and sounds fabulous with no surface noise or pops often heard on albums of this era and is rated NM (Near Mint). Joey's song was an instantaneous hit proving at the time that Haley and the Comets were quite a bit more than just a great rock and roll band. The songs on this album are exclusively instrumental (except for some vocal harmonies on "Chiquita Linda") and feature guitar, saxophone. bass and drums. This historic group demonstrates on the instrumentals on this disc, which include such songs as "Mack the Knife", that they went way beyond the rock and roll they were so well known for. The recording sessions for this album were at various times in 1958 and 1959.

The record jacket is in very nice conditon but does show a little storage wear and tiny soft corners (top amd bottom) at opening where the record is inserted. The jacket (cover) has no ring wear or seam splits or cracking. The printed detail on seams is crisp and clear. The front cover art is splendid with vivid colors. An earlier small price sticker remains in upper right showing name "Music World" and $4.98 price. Back cover has no added writing any where and just a tiny stain or spot and very small scrape at edge (in middle) where record is inserted. This jacket is rated conservatively a VG++. A new generic white inner sleeve and a new re-sealable clear poly outer sleeve will be included to help keep this gem it such fine condition another 50+ years. Collectors of vintage albums such as this gem will be most proud to have this in their collection and will search hard and long to find this classic album in such fine condition as this one.

As always, records are separated from outer jacket (to avoid splits) and all is bubble wrapped then covered front and back with cardboard inserts all shipped in heavy duty box designed for shipping record albums.
