Description
Offered is #1041 of Bill Evans, Live at the Village Vanguard. The Bill Evans Trio played a series of performances at the Village Vanguard in NYC June 1961. Sunday is still considered one of the great live jazz albums recognized by jazz lovers and audiophiles alike for its superb performance and sound. One-Step cuts the production process required to manufacture an LP by removing the intermediary steps between the lacquer and the production stamper. One-Step takes the freshly cut lacquer from the lathe, skips the conventional "father" and "mother" steps by going directly from the lacquer to a specially formed, nickel-electroplated stamper technically called termed the "convert." the finished vinyl is produced from the convert rather than the traditional sequence. This means limited production numbers as the "convert' will not yield the same quantities. Further the "convert" in this instance is cut by using the actual live-to-two-track master tape that rolled at the Village Vanguard that evening. The sonic results from MoFi's One-Step process is indisputable. Think in terms of a first or second generation copy of the master tape for tape aficionados. This record is that good. Pressed at RTI, limited to 3,000 copies - all numbered and on 180-gram 45 rpm vinyl. the 2-LP box includes original notes and a pari of Steve Schapiro 8X10 photos. A technical and artistic tour de force. This item come new, sealed and specific boxed for this item.
