This is my UK VINYL copy of  DERRICK HARRIOT - "THE BEST OF DERRICK HARRIOT" - released on ISLAND Records - 928 in MONO in 1965. I think most people interested in this VERY RARE LP will know that it is not a SKA, BLUE BEAT or REGGAE LP, but a collection of normal songs featuring his great falsetto voice. One track has a Ska feel but that is all. Like all the records I sell this record is from my own collection and this has been with me a long time, but time to find it a new home. Both the record and the sleeve are in good general shape with neither showing signs of heavy wear or play associated with Jamaican records, that were basically designed to party with! The slower content of this LP may have helped it survive in decent condition - smooch yes, party no! The white Island labels are both very clean and tidy. The laminated front sleeve is firm and strong with a couple of laminate creases near the record opening, a split at the record opening along the bottom for about half an inch and some light wear at the other corner.The spine is firm and strong and fully reafdable. The white card rear is still WHITE! As you can see from the picture, the sleeve looks great! The record has some light visible surface marks and withdrawl marks, but the original owner was a careful one and it still plays great with no crackles, pops or clicks.  A GREAT COPY OF THIS HARD TO FIND ISLAND LP
