BERNARD PARMEGIANI / LUC FERRARI / EDGARDO CANTON / MICHEL PHILIPPOT / ETC.
CONCERT COLLECTIF LP
Philips Prospective 21 Siecle
Early sonic experiments from GRM formation consisting of Bernard Parmegiani, Luc Ferrari, Ivo Malec, Francois Bayle, etc.
Some info on the release: Rare original 1st edition issue (silver front / white back cover), released in France sometime in the 60's on the great Philips Prospective 21 Siecle label (John Cage, Iannis Xenakis, Dubravko Detoni, Gottfried Michael Koenig, Makoto Shinohara, etc.). Stunning silver psychedelic effect cover. Furthermore, this is maybe one of the hardest titles of the silver series, nearly never turns up for sale!! Early sonic experiments from some of the pioneers of the french musique concrete school under the supervision of the grandfather of the genre Pierre Schaeffer that organised this project. The Group of Musical Researches (GRM) consisting in this formation from Bernard Parmegiani, Luc Ferrari, Edgardo Canton, Francois-Bernard Mache, Ivo Malec, Francois Bayle, Michel Philippot, Philippe Carson, Jean-Etienne Marie was brought together to research 2 concepts: the individual-collective concept and the abstract-concrete concept. First the above composers were supposed to collect and form collectively some material and to bring it afterwards to one composer who would work with it individually. The result are 4 excellent pieces: Francois Bayle's "Pluriel" (with source material from Bernard Parmegiani & Edgardo Canton), Ivo Malec's "Tutti" (with source material from Luc Ferrari and Francois-Bernard Mache), Luc Ferrari's "Compose-Composite" (with source material from Michel Philippot, Philippe Carson and Jean-Etienne Marie) and last Francois-Bernard Mache's "Synergies" (with source material from Francois Bayle & Ivo Malec)...A really highly recommended album!!
Here you can listen to Luc Ferrari's "Compose Composite" and Francois Bernard Mache's "Synergies":

[isdntekvideo]Condition: Vinyl lies in only good condition (my lowest grade for vinyls), looks to have the chemical effect that appears often to this series and results into a "swoosh" sound and crackle for the entire side B:, while side A: plays with constant crackle, while cover lies in very good++ shape, with a bad looking stain at the back and light age wear (see picture).
