Works commissioned by the French National Radio and carried out in the studios of its G.R.M. [Groupe de recherches musicales] (Musicial Research Group).

Parmegiani was known for his innovations in electroacoustic music, spinning together natural and synthetic sounds. He joined France's musique concrète collective Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM) in the late 1950s, working with the likes of Pierre Schaeffer and Iannis Xenakis. He also worked as a film and television composer.
