Description
'Belle and Sebastian' are a Scottish indie pop band, formed in Glasgow, Scotland in January, 1996. The bands name was taken from a French children's story about a boy called Sebastian and his dog Belle. Led by Stuart Murdoch, they have released nine studio albums to date, with much of their work having been put out on 'Jeepster Records'. However, they are now signed to 'Rough Trade Records' in the UK and 'Matador Records' in the US. Although often praised for their work by critics, the band have only enjoyed limited commercial success.
'Funny Little Frog' was the first single to be lifted from the bands seventh studio album 'The Life Pursuit'. Released in January, 2006, it became the bands highest charting single in the UK so far, reaching #13. In their native Scotland, the song made #3 on the 'Scottish Singles Chart'. The artwork for the single features Julie Coyle and Marisa Privitera.
