In diese Dramaturgie des Wachsens und Werdens fügt sich die Polnische Kammerphilharmonie unter der Leitung ihres guten Geistes Wojciech Rajski nahtlos ein, der seine über zehn Jahre andauernde Arbeit am sinfonischen Erbe Beethovens mit dieser Neunten krönt.
Der anspruchsvollen Aufgabe, Orchester und Kammer-Chor auf die Tonspuren zu bannen, hat sich das Aufnahme-Team hingebungsvoll und kreativ gewidmet und die Musiker planvoll wie experimentierfreudig um die hochsensiblen Edel-Mikrofone gruppiert.
Als Essenz der Aufnahmesitzungen in der Danziger Johanneskirche destilliert sich ein kraftvoller, erhabener und moderner Klang heraus, der übrigens für den gesamten Beethoven-Zyklus charakteristisch ist. Oder in Beethovens Originalton: »Wahre Kunst ist eigensinnig«.

Beethoven’s Ninth. Social utopia or not – whoever tackles the topics of joy, freedom and brotherhood must be well on the way to being a citizen of the world. Recording engineer and producer Andreas Spreer has tackled this grandiose music and proved for all time that his Tacet label has advanced from being a small specialist recording company to a global player. The Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra and its inspiring conductor Wojciech Rajski fit ideally into this phase of growth and achievement, since Rajski committed ten years of his life to Beethoven’s symphonic legacy, which is now crowned with his present recording of the Ninth Symphony.
The recording team dedicated themselves to the ambitious task of committing orchestra and chamber choir to tape and placed the musicians tactically and adventurously in front of highly sensitive, very exclusive microphones.
These recording sessions in Danzig’s Church of St. John have culminated in a powerful, exalted and modern sound, which – by the way – is characteristic for the whole Beethoven series. Or to put it in Beethoven’s words: »True art is wilful.«
