Description
We are all familiar with the felt-covered original U.S. issue of this album, which I had when I was in college(sooo long ago). I lost it somewhere, and was only able to replace it with the single-disc re-release available in the early eighties. I complained mightily about this, and was rewarded with this album, given as a gift by my sister one Christmas. It is the French release, and the sleeves have the handling instructions printed in French, although the liner is printed in English. It comes packaged in a clear vinyl sleeve, much more robust than the cellophane LPs are usually packaged in. The label is Robert Stigwood's RSO records, and the copyright jargon on the disc's labels is also in French; there is also a label on the back of the jacket that says: "Made and Printed in France." The discs are completely virginal, I really don't think I ever played them(I was mostly listening to music in my car then). I searched all through the versions of this I could find for sale on several websites, and none were packaged in this cover; they were all either in the original velvet or a plain glossy paper version of the same. I know that the Bee Gees disco music hurt their credibility in the audiophile world, but this pre-disco album is really quite extraordinary and, I believe, a rare commodity.
