From my own personal collection I am pleased to offer an exceptional MINT- example of the studio double album by the BEE GEES titled “ODESSA”, Catalogue Number 583049/50. This is a 1969 UK STEREO 1st ISSUE on the POLYDOR RECORDS LABEL, with a beautiful 1st issue felt-covered E. J. Day gatefold sleeve. [The matrix numbers are A//1, B//1, A//1, B//2. Record 1 has rough-textured labels and Record 2 has smooth ones].
The sleeve is in EX+ condition with only the lightest of wear and no creasing. The crimson felt is free of wear and retains its vivid colouration. This sleeve really is almost perfect in every respect.
The heavyweight Polydor records retain a ‘just pressed’ shine and sit flat and true on the turntable. Visually all 4 sides are in MINT- condition. The labels are unmarked with maybe 3 or 4 faint spindle traces each. There is no wear to either spindle hole. I can confirm that the records have only been played a handful of times at most using a high end cartridge with a light tracking weight.
PLAYGRADE ASSESSMENT:
Both records play essentially as new. There is no discernable deterioration in sound quality and barely any unwanted noise at all. You will not find better – I guarantee it!
Complete with the correct matching white poly-lined inner sleeves which are both in EX condition.
Overall this is a beautiful collectors item that will grace any record collection.
GRADINGS
The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega Planar 3 turntable fitted with an Elys 2 cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. My gradings are strict and in accordance with the following descriptions:
· MINT- Record is superb, almost like new, with just a few sleeve removal type surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve is near perfect in all respects.
· EX Record is a top quality example, with just a few very light surface marks which do not sound, and barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve has slight wear and/or creasing.
· VG Record has some visual surface marks, but still plays to a high standard without any major deterioration in sound quality – just a few clicks or light surface sound in places. Sleeve has normal wear and tear without any major defects. Still a very presentable sleeve.
PACKAGING
Records are sent out in new “Wrapro” record mailers. These are rectangular and strong, providing excellent protection to the edges and corners. Records are removed from both inner and outer sleeves in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
