After 20 years of collecting, the time has come for me to sell my Beatles collection and let other collectors appreciate some of the records and memorabilia I've accumilated over the years. This auction is for a rare, original mono pressing of the Bee Gees Polydor LP 'Horizontal'.
By 1968 mono was pretty much a dead format. Stereo records coming down in price to be the same as their mono counterparts along with the price of stereo record players drastically dropping meant that everybody bought stereo and the mono copies were left on the shelf. Mono sales dropped so much that by 1969 it was discontinued completely as a format across all labels.
A rare and uncommon pressing of this classic Bee Gees LP, with original thick vinyl and mono specific, laminated cover with EJ Day manufacturing credit.

The cover is looking really nice for its age! The front is lovely and clean with a deep, rich colour to it. There's just a very light disc impression and a few little laminate creases, and some rounding and light wear to the corners. There's a white spot on the right but this is under the laminate and so a production fault. Top and bottom seams are both holding tight with no wear or splits. The spine is also unworn and unsplit with fully legible text. Back cover, again, has a lovely colour to it. There's light but noticeable disc impression, mostly on the upper half of the disc and a few little creases here and there. Overall, though, the cover is looking really nice! The playing surface has a beautifully crisp, sharp shine to it and has nothing more than some very light, faint scuffing. There're a few very slightly heavier looking marks, most noticeably on side 2, that look superficial but do bring the grade down slightly. Overall, gorgeous vinyl!

The labels are clean, crisp and clear with a rich colour to them. Both have light spindlewear and a little touch of whitening around each centrehole.

All records have been visually graded under a strong, 125W natural light desk lamp.

All LPs will be mailed out in a strong, corrugated cardboard LP mailing box with the LP outside the sleeve. Extra sheets of corrugated cardboard will be used where applicable and FRAGILE tape used
