BECK - MELLOW GOLD

RARE ORIGINAL GEFFEN 12" VINYL LP

This vinyl LP is very hard to find as in 1994 vinyl was being pressed in small quantities.  This was the era when cassettes and CDs were the most popular music formats.  Mellow Gold very rarely appears for sale on vinyl, especially as a first Geffen pressing.  This copy has a promo sticker on the back sleeve, making it one of the earliest copies pressed of this classic Beck album.

The LP has MPO (the pressing plant in France) in the run out groove, ensuring that this is the real thing and not a counterfeit.  There are a lot of counterfeit vinyl copies of Mellow Gold.

CONDITION:

RECORD - VERY GOOD+ The record visually shows mild signs of use, but no scratches or other major faults.  I have play graded this entire record and it plays near perfectly throughout, to an excellent standard, with only the very occasional light tick.  The record has not been overplayed and has been looked after.  It's an excellent pressing that is a pleasure to listen to, a fantastic sounding record.  Very dynamic with power, depth and clarity.

LABELS - EXCELLENT

SLEEVE - VERY GOOD The sleeve has some light creasing and wear around the edges.  There is also a small 1 1/2" split at the bottom.  It is still an attractive and presentable sleeve.  Please see photos.

INNER SLEEVE - VERY GOOD The inner sleeve is made from thin paper and is prone to splits.  This has two, a 2" split at the bottom and another slightly smaller split on one of the sides.  There is also some slight foxing.  The record will be sent in a separate inner sleeve to prevent further wear or damage.

Records are graded using a Technics SL-2000 turntable with a new Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge.
