For sale are two limited edition vinyl releases celebrating the 20th anniversary of Odelay by Beck which Bong Load was kind enough to reissue in addition to the chart-busting Mellow Gold! WOW!!
Mellow Gold was released March 1st, 1994 as Beck’s first full-length album. Discovered by Bong Load Records owner and producer, Tom Rothrock, Beck began recording the song 'Loser' with Rothrock and friend Carl Stephenson. 'Loser' was written and recorded in 6 hours and was the genesis of the groundbreaking full-length album. 'Mellow' Gold was released on March 1, 1994, following the surprise success of 'Loser.'
Mellow Gold has often been referred to as a true concept album, mixing folk, hip-hop and indie rock into a cohesive piece of art. The decidedly anti-commercial attitude of 'Mellow Gold' became an unexpected commercial success and went platinum.
This release, as is the other, is limited to 2,016 copies (this one is numbered low, #66) on 180 gram red & black smoke colored vinyl and includes a 11x11 poster.

Originally released in June of 1996, Beck's second major label album, Odelay, was his chance to prove that he was no one-hit wonder. His major label debut, Mellow Gold, had produced the hit single "Loser," but there was a sense he hadn't quite won over everyone and it was hard to tell exactly who Beck was. Was he joking? Was he serious? Was he simply some sort of beat-poet novelty act? With Odelay, he enlisted the Dust Brothers, most famous at this point for being behind the boards for the Beastie Boys' 1989 sonic-collage opus Paul's Boutique. Together they crafted a classic.
This release features is sky blue colored, 180 gram vinyl and is gold Stamp-Numbered on back cover with a 11×33 Poster inside!!
Discs are Mint and brand new, factory sealed!
